FREE-APP POLICY

Free software. Clear expectations.

The application is free

No purchase price, marketplace subscription, expiring trial, required paid feature unlock, or mandatory developer-sold API credits. Optional donations are permitted.

External services may have a price

Some workbenches use your own API, data, compute, or cloud accounts. Their providers may charge fees. Listings must distinguish required and optional services and disclose what data leaves the device.

Source access and distribution rights

Public visibility alone does not grant reuse rights. Public projects disclose a supported license or their actual custom terms. Private projects explicitly permit free use and marketplace distribution and grant the verification service scoped source access. Every project needs dependency and model license compatibility and relevant notices.

Supported standard licenses include MIT, Apache-2.0, BSD-2-Clause, BSD-3-Clause, GPL-3.0, AGPL-3.0, and MPL-2.0 variants explicitly represented in the manifest schema.

Changing GitHub visibility updates the source label and public repository details. An unchanged accepted release stays downloadable without a new manifest or review, provided the GitHub App still has access. Visibility changes do not change its license terms or replace the original release checks.

Useful intelligence functionality

Meaningful local or cloud-connected AI, machine learning, scientific intelligence and optimization workflows qualify under supported policy categories. An “AI” label or a single package dependency does not prove eligibility.

What automation can establish

Deterministic declarations, source/package checks and applicable functional tests support admission. Automated inspection cannot prove the absence of every hidden business model or future undeclared behavior. Policy findings include their scope and limitations.
